Story Time!
It all started with the "No Child Sleeps Outside" Campaign.
My design career began as an in-house designer for a start-up advertising agency in Seattle, WA. In 2013 we partnered up with Mary’s Place (a non-profit with the mission to protect & provide safe housing for homeless women, children and families) to launch and carry out their very first online campaign with the goal to build an emergency homeless shelter in preparation for one of the coldest winters recorded in the Pacific Northwest.
Our campaign, “No Child Sleeps Outside”, gained lots of publicity and attention from local media and companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Alaska Airlines, Starbucks, Comcast, The Seattle Times, and Bank of America, just to name a few.
With impactful design and strategical online marketing we raised over $2M in our first year which allowed Mary's Place to open up multiple new permanent shelters for Seattle's large homeless population, helping over 2,000 unsheltered family members get inside.
Today, the NCSO campaign has exceed expectations raising over $4M in 2018 and continues to raise funds annually using my designs as the main branding.

Amazon was always a “dream job” of mine and when they approached me for a position within their team of designers, I gladly accepted. During my time at Amazon, I was able to hone my skills and adapt a better practice of my design process. I began my career at Amazon as a Production Designer creating visual designs such as on-site banners & graphics, affiliate logos, branding, global style guides, landing pages, illustrations, Kindle Ads and apparel.
With an innovative strategy, I had the opportunity to pioneer a new layout for the Amazon Books website landing page. The successful results garnered from the shift to the new Amazon Books layout provided me with a new position within the company — Lead Visual Designer for Amazon’s very first brick-and-mortar store "Amazon Bookstore" in Seattle, WA (University District).

While managing a team of designers and developers, I was directly responsible for the design templates & quality assurance of all in-store signs, posters, book rating cards, and quality assurance.
From 2015 - 2022 Amazon had opened over 68 bookstores in major cities within the U.S. and they continued to use my original designs in their new stores up until they decided to permanently close all bookstores in 2022.
In 2016 I started my own design and graphics company, "Jess Right" Design, and never looked back! Being a freelance designer has opened doors that I never imagined could be possible — It's provided me the opportunity to work alongside amazing, inspirational and successful people who have helped shaped my company into what it is today.
